Artist hopes new mural in Children's Mercy radiology waiting room will ease anxiety

A Kansas City artist is hoping to make it easier for children and parents visiting Children's Mercy Hospital.

"Scribe" has been painting his murals in the hospital for ten years. He has artwork in the Crossroads as well as Westport. He finished up the mural in the radiology waiting room. Nobody likes going to the hospital, but Scribe says he hopes his artwork can help sooth and ease both children and parents visiting Children's Mercy.

"They're like the first line of defense, calming them, and then after that we have a ton of awesome staff who take each step of the way after that to make it an enjoyable experience and something that's not scary for them," he said.
