Balancing your kids' activities and schoolwork

Doctors say it's an easy time to get overwhelmed

Dr. Ed Christophersen, a child psychologist at Children's Mercy Hospital, describes the most important step: "Do family well before getting them involved in extra curricular activities."

Dr. Christophersen recommends that kids don't take on more than one activity at a time. He also says the most important gift a parent can give to their child is rest.
