Becker's Hospital Review: Children's Mercy raises $150M for mental health care

Children’s Mercy, based in Kansas City, Mo., has raised $150 million to address the pediatric mental health crisis across the region.

The five-year Illuminate initiative, launched in summer 2023, focuses on facilitating early intervention, increasing specialty services, investing in research and innovation, and expanding hospital care. Since its launch, Children’s Mercy has introduced nearly 14 initiatives under the plan.

More than 5,000 donors supported the effort.
