Children's Mercy among nation's best in U.S. News rankings

Three Kansas City area hospitals have made it onto U.S. News & World Report's latest lists of best hospitals, which were released Tuesday. Children's Mercy Hospital is ranked among the top 50 hospitals nationwide in nine pediatric specialties.

At Children's Mercy, the nationally ranked pediatrics programs are cancer (No. 17), diabetes and endocrinology (No. 17), gastroenterology and GI surgery (No. 32), neonatology (No. 23), nephrology (No. 6), neurology and neurosurgery (No. 38), orthopedics (No. 14), pulmonology (No. 38) and urology (No. 40).
