Children's Mercy Hospital Ranked Among Nation's Top Pediatric Hospitals in all 10 Specialties

Once again, Children's Mercy is recognized as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report's 2015-16 "Best Children's Hospitals" rankings, in all 10 of the 10 specialties.

Those pediatric specialties include: cancer, cardiology, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology

This year, U.S. News surveyed 184 pediatric centers to gather clinical and operational data. This data was then combined with results from a reputational survey in which board-certified pediatric specialists representing the 10 specialties were asked where they would send the sickest children in their specialty.

"Being listed among the nation's best in all 10 specialties is no small feat and clearly demonstrates that we're among the finest children's hospitals in the nation," says Dr. Randall O'Donnell, President and CEO of Children's Mercy. "But we aren't done yet. Much more can and will be accomplished as we continue to practice, teach and research the best ways to deliver quality pediatric care and provide the best outcomes possible for our patients and families."
