Christina Dempsey, DNP, and Jeff Jones Join Board of Directors for Children’s Mercy Kansas City
Children's Mercy Kansas City has added two prominent leaders to its Board of Directors: Christina Dempsey, DNP, and Jeff Jones.
Christina (Christy) Dempsey is the CEO of Christina Dempsey Enterprises, LLC. She is the former Chief Nursing Officer for Press Ganey Associates and adjunct faculty at Missouri State University School of Nursing.
Dempsey is a registered nurse with more than three decades of healthcare experience, regularly speaking and publishing nationally and internationally on nursing, perioperative and emergency services, patient flow, medical practice operations, supply chain and physician/hospital collaboration.
She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and serves as President of the Missouri Organization of Nurse Leaders, the Nightingale College Board of Managers, and the board of Magnit, LLC. In 2018 and 2020, Dempsey was named a top 50 Safety Expert in the U.S. by Becker’s Hospital Review. She currently co-chairs the American Nurses Association Nursing Administration Scope and Standards of Practice revision workgroup.
Jeff Jones is President and CEO of H&R Block. Jones has more than 30 years of executive management, leadership, and operational knowledge, having held key roles at top companies in retail, consumer products, advertising agency, and technology industries.
Prior to H&R Block, Jones was the first President of Uber and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Target. In addition, he has held executive and leadership roles serving brands such as The Coca-Cola Company, Gap and Leo Burnett.
He is committed to advancing equity, justice and opportunity through his work with Fortune’s CEO Initiative, as well as the Council for Inclusive Capitalism and the Fast Company Impact Council. He is a member of the Kansas City Economic Club and a co-chair of the South Loop Project. Jones has been a Director of Advance Auto Parts since 2019 and has also advised multiple early-stage technology and consumer companies, and nonprofit organizations.

We now welcome Diane Gallagher as our incoming Vice Chair and Charlie Harris, Jr., JD, who will serve as Secretary.
