Classmates, parents show support for teen who collapsed at meet

Dr. Greg Canty, the medical director of sports medicine at Children's Mercy Hospital, said it's extremely rare for a teenager to go into cardiac arrest. He said that while he was not speaking about this boy's case specifically, there is often a pre-existing condition that the patient and family didn't know about.
