Every Kansas City Chiefs fan deserves a chance to cheer.

That’s why leaders at Children’s Mercy Hospital organized a special Super Bowl pre-party on Wednesday, giving young patients and their families a fun afternoon.

Sixteen-year-old Jameson Burns and his loved ones attended. Burns and his family hail from St. Joseph, Missouri. He’s awaiting a heart transplant. Burns said he’s been at the hospital’s intensive care unit for 27 days, and on the local transplant list for close to three months.

“It’s fun to get out and see other people doing things that they can’t do all the time,” Burns said. “Plus KC Wolf is here.”
