Fundraiser gives kids a chance to attend Dom Dwyer's birthday party

Children’s Mercy is hosting a fundraising campaign called Small Change – Big Difference with a chance for children to win an invitation to a birthday party with Dom Dwyer, a major league Kansas City soccer player.

Children ages 6 to 16 years old who donate to, or register with, Children’s Mercy at childrensmercy.org/domsbirthday by July 25 will be entered for a chance to win an invitation to Dwyer’s party Aug. 1.

Seventy-five children will receive invitations.

Children’s Mercy says the campaign aims to teach children about the importance of giving back to their communities.

The donation site also lists a selection of gifts for Children’s MercyChild Life, a donation-funded program that provides items and programs to patients and families during treatment.

Gifts wanted include toys and books for playrooms, crib mobiles for neonatal intensive care patients, and dog treats for therapy dogs.
