Jim Simaras named EVP and Chief Financial Officer

Children’s Mercy Kansas City announced that Jim Simaras, MBA, CPA, has been named Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer following an extensive national search.

 Jim served as Vice President of Finance at Children’s Wisconsin for six years and was instrumental in leading and supporting the organization’s financial strategy, strategic partnership development, financial forecasting, financial operations, and investment management.

Prior to Children’s Wisconsin, he served for six years as Vice President of Accounting and Financial Reporting at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. In addition to his experiences in large, complex health systems, Jim worked on the payor side, including experiences at United Health and Blue Cross & Blue Shield United of Wisconsin. Throughout his career, Jim has demonstrated his abilities as a collaborative and strategic thought partner and is very committed to helping Children’s Mercy activate and sustain the full potential of our Mission. He is engaged nationally in advancing children’s healthcare and serves on the Investment and Finance Committee of the Children’s Hospital Association.
