During Meyer’s 27 years at Children’s Mercy, she has continued to tackle new challenges and risen to higher roles. When the Super Bowl parade descended into gun violence in February, she led the hospital’s staff in their response treating 12 injured patients, including 11 teens and young children. Meyer, who became SVP and CNO in October 2022, oversees more than 3,000 nurses. In 2021, she received the Missouri Organization of Nurse Leaders’ Excellence in Leadership Award.
