Kansas City Business Journal: Children's Mercy launches $152M expansion for Overland Park hospital

Children’s Mercy Kansas City is launching a $152 million renovation and expansion at its Overland Park hospital, the first major renovation there in about 20 years.

“We know when we grow in Kansas, it doesn't just benefit our Kansas hospital. It benefits our entire health system,” said Amy Fallon, president of regional operations for Children's Mercy Kansas City. “As we grow in Kansas and take care of kids here, we know that we also grow and create capacity for our Adele Hall campus.”

The multiphase project includes expanding surgical services, constructing a new medical building on the campus, and adding services and updates throughout the campus. The project comes as the pediatric hospital plans to expand throughout Kansas. Last month, Children’s Mercy announced that it would build an 18,000-square-foot clinic in Wichita.
