Kansas City Business Journal: Children's Mercy will add medical office on Overland Park campus

Children's Mercy will add a new medical office building on the northwest side of its Overland Park campus.

The existing hospital building at 5808 W. 110th St. is four stories with a two-story penthouse roof/medical tower and landing pad. The medical office will be four stories with an additional two-story penthouse space for the roof to align with the existing building. A hospital penthouse is an enclosed rooftop structure typically used to store equipment such as generators or HVAC components. 

Children’s Mercy plans to expand its existing lobby by about 7,000 square feet to connect the medical office to the existing hospital. A covered drop-off canopy structure will stretch from east side of the new building to the expanded lobby entrance of the 52-bed hospital.
