KCTV 5: Children's Mercy to offer COVID-19 vaccine clinics for children under 5 years old

By Greg Payne

Children's Mercy is offering COVID-19 vaccine shots for children under the age of 5.

Medical officials say they have seen an increase in younger children being hospitalized with COVID-19.

And they say a large part of that is because the fact that age group isn't able to get vaccinated. That's going to change this weekend.

“I know that it feels like it's been delayed and there may be some frustrations there, but this is how the scientific process works,” said Dr. Angela Myers. Dr. Myers is the Division Director of Infectious Diseases at Children's Mercy.

Appointments are required for the clinics. More information can be found at the link below.
