KCTV 5: Father donates kidney to son

Jett

Parents of a sick child will try to do anything to make them feel better. This story is about a Kansas City father whose young son will be able to live a better life after his dad donated his kidney to him.

In early August, surgeons at the University of Kansas Medical Center removed one of Jerry Casey's kidneys. Then surgeons at Children's Mercy used the kidney for a transplant to his 22 month-old son Jett.

Jett is now recovering well. The family says they're looking forward to the day when they'll be able to take Jett swimming for the first time.
