Our Top 5 Most Loved Stories of 2019

The year 2019 was a banner year for Children's Mercy! Join us as we take a look back at the stories our audience loved the most:

OH, BABY! NICU Nurses Baby Boom

Our Intensive Care Nursery experienced a baby boom in 2019! Thirty six of our NICU nurses were pregnant or gave birth in 2019.

Hey, Justin Timberlake! We hope you're feeling better...

After JT had to postpone his Kansas City tour stop due to illness, our patients made a video to wish him well.

For the first time, all ten Children's Mercy Specialties rank in Top 30 by U.S. News & World Report

“Having all 10 specialties ranked for the fifth year is testament not just to our team’s expertise, but equally important, it speaks to our partnership with our patient families and our community providers,” said Paul Kempinski, MS, FACHE, president and CEO of Children’s Mercy.

Visit from MVPatrick Mahomes

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes surprised our patients and families with a visit AND he donated new PlayStations, robots, shoes, clothes and more.

Big Slick Ten

Thank you to Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, David Koechner, Eric Stonestreet and all of their friends for raising a ton of money for pediatric research! The Big Slick Celebrity Weekend has raised more than $10 million in 10 years.

It was a great year, but we have even bigger things planned for 2020!
