Springfield Business Journal: Children's Mercy with Mercy plans December opening for O'Reilly Pediatric Center

Members of the media yesterday were invited to a sneak peek of the O’Reilly Pediatric Center, a joint project between Mercy Springfield Communities and Kansas City-based Children’s Mercy.
The pediatric outpatient center is located on Mercy's south campus that also includes its orthopedic hospital and a new emergency room. The price of the pediatric facility was previously projected at $30 million.
The two-story, 40,000-square-foot pediatric facility is slated for completion in December, said Debbie Schwartzkopf, the joint venture's chief administrative officer. The facility was first announced in November 2025, and the O'Reilly family came on as lead donors less than a month later.
