Visitor restrictions for inpatient units will be lifted Friday, May 6

Beginning Friday, May 6, children 12 years old and younger will be allowed to visit Children's Mercy inpatient units again. These children have not been allowed to visit inpatient units since late February due to a high number of circulating viral respiratory infections - which are easily spread. Recent numbers show a downward trend in viral respiratory infections, so the restrictions will be lifted.

Visitors still must follow standard precautions when visiting inpatient units. Visitors who are ill or who "appear sick" (e.g., cough, fever or runny nose) will not be allowed to visit inpatient units.
