Wichita Business Journal: Children's Mercy unveils first look of Wichita clinic

Children's Mercy on Tuesday offered a first look at its $18.3 million clinic in Wichita that's expected to serve more than 10,000 pediatric patients in the region.
The multi-specialty ambulatory facility will span 18,000 square feet and feature 30 exam rooms with on-site lab and imaging, as well as a family education space and a variety of expanded pediatric care services.
"We want to provide great care here in the community, we want to serve kids locally and be able to keep them close to home," said Amy Fallon, president of regional operations for Kansas City-based Children's Mercy.
It will mark the hospital's first standalone project in Wichita, which will include 16 in-person providers across 11 specialties and other services that will be located in one facility.
Children's Mercy expects the new clinic to add nine new physicians and support staff to its Wichita presence to provide care in additional services including neurology, allergy, pulmonary, psychology and psychiatry.
"In the new model, we hope to recruit more physicians to live and work here," said Mary Ann Queen, vice president and associate chief medical officer for regional and outreach services at Children's Mercy.
