Children's Mercy Once Again Named a Top Pediatric Hospital by U.S. News & World Report
Children’s Mercy has been ranked once again among the nation’s top pediatric hospitals in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 “Best Children’s Hospitals,” earning Top 50 recognition in nine specialties.
This year, two specialties placed among the top 25 nationwide: Nephrology at #14, and Neurology and Neurosurgery at #23.
Additionally, for the second consecutive year, Children’s Mercy’s Pediatric and Adolescent Behavioral Health was named a top 50 program. (All mental health programs receive equal recognition.)

U.S News surveyed nearly 150 pediatric centers, gathering clinical and operational data. This data was then combined with results from a reputational survey in which board-certified pediatric specialists were asked where they would send the sickest children in their specialty.
