Kansas City Business Journal: Children's Mercy licenses new treatment for dystonia, Parkinson's

Children’s Mercy signed a licensing agreement to help bring to market a treatment that could help children and adults with movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease.
The Kansas City-based hospital said it signed an exclusive licensing deal with Vima Therapeutics for VIM0423. The oral treatment, developed by Children’s Mercy researchers, has a Fast Track designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to move to trials.
“This agreement accelerates innovation from the lab to the bedside, turning discovery into care,” Steven Leeder, chief scientific officer for Children’s Mercy Research Institute, said in a release. “It’s more than a licensing deal; it’s a testament to what’s possible when innovation and compassion come together.”
